FAQ
Do you accept dinner reservations?
Reservations are recommended (with the exception of live music or special event evenings) for parties over 6 people as seats fill up quickly – especially on the weekends. We accept parties up to 14 people & ask that you call the restaurant to book.
How do I make a large party reservation?
For larger parties, up to 14 people, give us a call at 254.938.3015. We do not reserve parties on the OpenTable platform. You have to call the restaurant directly. We do not offer a separate private dining room (full venue rental only), or any parties larger than 14 people. We do not allow any outside food or beverage and cannot allow decorations such as confetti…
Can I split my large party into multiple tables?
We can not split parties into smaller tables. This is a restaurant policy that we follow strictly, as we do not have the capacity in our dining room or kitchen to accommodate parties larger than 14 people.
Do you have a dress code?
Nope! There are no dress requirements in our restaurant. You can walk in fresh off the ranch in cowboy boots or that cute evening gown for date night! Come as you are.
Do you have a Happy Hour menu?
We do not offer any Happy Hour specials.
Do you have mixed drinks?
We currently only offer wine and beer. We are unable to serve hard alcohol, due to the City of Troy alcohol ordinance. Outside alcohol is prohibited.
Are kids welcome?
We do not have an age restriction for guests but keep in mind that as a tavern, we cater heavily to an adult clientele. We do not have a kid’s menu, kid’s activities, and not all of our tables can accommodate the use of booster seats and high-chairs. We ask that all children be supervised and remain at your designated table at all times as a courtesy to other patrons.
Is it 21 or older?
There are no age restrictions at the restaurant but keep in mind that Troy Lumberyard caters heavily to an adult clientele.
Do you host parties?
The Lumberyard does offer private event space or buy-out options to host large parties, company events, weddings, wedding parties, graduations, etc. For additional details, please visit our venue rental page.
Do you deliver or do takeout?
We do not have a delivery service, and we do not partner with delivery services such as DoorDash or UberEats. Currently, we do not offer takeout in order to assure our small kitchen can provide excellent service and turn around times for our dine in guests.
Can I purchase a gift card?
Gift cards can be purchased at the restaurant.
Are there gluten-free menu options?
We take precautionary measures to prevent cross-contamination, but it is important to note that we do NOT have an exclusive gluten-free kitchen. We do still offer an array of gluten-free options, all of which are denoted on our menu with a symbol.
Do you offer any fried options, such as fries/hamburgers?
No. We do not have a fryer and do not plan on adding one to our kitchen anytime in the near future, as our entirely wood building is fire hazard enough.
We pride ourselves on our menu being focused on fresh ingredients and quality over quantity- with all our curated selections and bites created by our executive chefs daily.
Where should I park?
We recommend that you park in the public parking spaces offered on Main St. or on the grass/dirt adjacent to the building on Front St. along the train tracks.
Do you offer live music?
Yes, visit our events page for all upcoming music nights, special events or private venue rental closures.
About Us
So…where are you guys from? The question everyone loves to ask and talk about.
Yes, we all at one point lived in California *GASP*
One owner and executive Chef, Jennifer, is a born Dallas TX native who takes inspiration from her Texas roots as well as time spent living in New Mexico and yes, California, into our menu. Other owner and everyone’s favorite man behind the bar, Scott, was a Marine brat and moved around his childhood, but met and married Jennifer in California where they raised their daughters.
They moved to Texas in 2018 to their ranch, having fallen in love with the Troy area after spending time with family who live here, and purchased the Troy General store for renovations to become the Troy Lumberyard in June 2021.
One daughter and resident cheesemonger, Hannah, moved to Texas in 2022 from Maryland, bringing her wealth of knowledge from a successful catering career, to help with restaurant operations. She also brought along our favorite guest bartender, Josh, and the main little boss who you can occasionally find in the dining room shouting out her demands.
